Kids
U.S. LaserDisc · LDVM6311 · widescreen · uncut
U.S. widescreen uncut LaserDisc of Kids, Larry Clark's 1995 first feature and Harmony Korine's breakthrough screenplay, released by Vidmark in January 1996. The film's non-professional and first-time performers, New York skate milieu and unsparing treatment of sex, drugs, violence and AIDS-era youth made it one of the defining and most contested records of 1990s urban youth culture.

Attribution / research note
Front jacket states WIDESCREEN EDITION and 'A Film by Larry Clark'. Rear credits name Larry Clark as director, Harmony Korine as writer, Leo Fitzpatrick, Justin Pierce and Chloë Sevigny among principal cast, and identify Vidmark Entertainment and Pioneer. Physical rear jacket prints 'Approx. Running Time 102 Min. · 2 Sides'; AFI catalogues the film at 91 minutes, so the discrepancy is preserved rather than silently reconciled. Disc labels read LDVM6311, Extended Play CLV, Digital Sound Stereo, Made in USA, Side 1/Side 2.
Why this object matters
The contemporary US uncut widescreen LaserDisc records a particular distribution form of KIDS and complements its German campaign and UK DVD. The closeness to release and exact format justify its modest advantage over the later DVD.
Evidence limits: Complete under the standing TMR rule: outer jacket, one two-sided LaserDisc and inner sleeve are present; no missing issued insert or other component has been reported.
