Catalogue note
VICE Vol. 14 No. 9, December 2016, explicitly titled The Fiction Issue 2016. The front cover turns the mechanics and clichés of narrative construction into a sculptural still life of books carrying phrases such as “Act One”, “Second Act”, “Plot Perfect”, “From Conflict to Resolution” and “The Worst Is Over”. It is a late-period VICE fiction issue, useful within TMR as evidence of the magazine’s continuing engagement with fiction and its increasingly polished art-direction language by 2016.
