Catalogue note

Original double-sided flyer for The Pleasuredome 94 — Midsummer Madness at Eastgate Leisure Centre, Ingoldmells, Skegness, on Saturday 25 June 1994, 7pm–2am. The Main Arena bills Pilgrim, SS, Ramos, Vibes, Fergus and Rush with MCs Man Parris, Natz and Peta Pan; a separate Houseroom features Parks & Wilson, Chinney and James Arthur. The £8-member/£10-non-member flyer also advertises a 25K wall of sound by Peace Hire, Delta Videos visuals, multicolour lasers, Roboscans, Terra strobes, Moonflower, security and car parking. Its tape/video outlets, membership scheme, mailing list and dense regional network make it valuable evidence of how rave culture operated and circulated on the Lincolnshire coast.

Advertised programme: Main Arena: Pilgrim; SS; Ramos; Vibes; Fergus; Rush. MCs: Man Parris; Natz; Peta Pan. Houseroom: Parks & Wilson; Chinney; James Arthur.

Graphic-design significance: The flyer uses a persistent magenta-and-white diamond/check pattern across both faces, overlaid with large distressed/offset white typography on the cover and tightly boxed information architecture on the reverse. The front’s partly obscured “MIDSUMMER MADNESS” lettering creates a deliberately layered graphic treatment. No designer credit is securely established from the photographs.

Historical context: The physical sheet documents a Pleasuredome event at Eastgate Leisure Centre, Ingoldmells, on 25 June 1994, with £8 member and £10 non-member admission. Specialist rave archives preserve Pleasuredome material from the 1993–94 period and recordings attributed to the 25 June 1994 event, supporting its place within the East Coast regional hardcore circuit. The reverse is especially useful for mapping scene infrastructure: tapes/videos were sold through outlets in Grimsby, Mansfield, Boston, King’s Lynn, Grantham and Nottingham, while the lower border carries a dense wider regional network of venues/shops/scene names.

Production note: Two-colour magenta/white printing with black/dark text elements on paper stock; exact printing process and stock not established.

Condition note: Fair to Good appearance, ungraded. Heavily handled with multiple pronounced horizontal and vertical fold/crease lines, extensive crease whitening and print abrasion, edge/corner wear, surface rubbing and several small tears/splits along folds and margins. Despite the wear, both faces remain substantially complete and the principal event, line-up, admission and attraction information is legible.

Confidence / uncertainty: The exact date, venue, hours, prices and printed bill are physically verified. “SS” is linked at high confidence to the established DJ SS authority; “Ramos” to the existing Ramos authority; “Vibes” to the established DJ Vibes authority based on scene context, while the printed form remains VIBES. Pilgrim, Fergus, Rush, Man Parris, Natz, Peta Pan, Parks & Wilson, Chinney and James Arthur remain as printed credits rather than forcing uncertain authority matches. Printed billing records advertised appearances, not proof of performance.
