Catalogue note
Original large fold-out programme for Raindance's Annual 'Slightly Late' Valentines Ball at SeOne, London Bridge, on 20 February 2010. The event celebrated Raindance entering its 21st year with a large multi-room programme covering old skool, jungle/drum & bass, hardcore, breakbeat, hard house, trance and house. The object has exceptional venue-history significance because SeOne ceased trading on 22 February 2010, only two days after the event.
Advertised programme: Old Skool Arch: Nookie ('Top of the Pops' showcase), Nebula II live PA, The Ratpack (DJ Lipmaster Mark / MC Evenson Allen / vocalist Stephanie Smart), Lukozade & Perry K, Trix, Herman, Billy 'Daniel' Bunter & Danger Moose, Danny C, Robbie Long, Mr X, Lomas & Rascal; hosted by Danger Moose, 5 Alive & Strict. Drum & Bass and Jungle Arch: Funky Flirt, Kenny Ken, SLB, JJ Frost, Rivah feat. Cat Knight, Modified Motion, Flapjack, Devious D, Junglechopz, Nicky Blackmarket, Mindless Motion, Active 8, Mello D; hosted by Danger Moose, 5 Alive, Rema-Dee and Shockin'. Further rooms physically billed include 89–90 Jenkins Lane Reunion Arch, Can U Feel It Breakbeat Arch, Magic Hardcore Raveabout Arch, Mad Hatters Hard House Arch, History of Trance Arch and Pussina House Arch.
Graphic-design significance: The cover uses an exuberant red, yellow and black Valentines palette, with hearts, stars, smileys and Raindance logos layered behind oversized yellow RAINDANCE lettering. 'VALENTINES BALL' is constructed from mismatched letterforms on circular tokens, giving the design a playful ransom-note / handmade-party aesthetic. The interior carries the same scrapbook language across fluorescent yellow line-up panels and a bright pink retrospective/promotional panel. No named designer credit is visible.
Historical context: HarderFaster preserves the matching Raindance event copy and line-up, but its outer event wrapper incorrectly displays 20 March 2010 while the embedded event copy says 20 February 2010; this discrepancy is preserved rather than silently normalised. London SE1 subsequently reported that SeOne ceased trading on Monday afternoon, 22 February 2010, two days after the physically dated Raindance event.
Production note: Full-colour commercial print on coated paper/card stock; exact printing process and stock weight not established.
Condition note: Good to Very Good appearance, ungraded. Original folds remain intact with light fold whitening and handling. The cover shows small edge rubs, minor corner wear and a few surface marks, with slightly greater wear along the left edge and lower margin. Interior and ticket panels remain bright and fully legible. No major tears, detached panels or substantial paper loss visible.
Confidence / uncertainty: The physical object is authoritative for the event date: 20 February 2010. HarderFaster's event wrapper misdates the listing to 20 March 2010, but the same page reproduces the Raindance body copy stating 20 February 2010, matching the flyer. The closure date of 22 February 2010 is independently documented by London SE1 from SeOne's own statement. It is therefore safe to describe this as a Raindance event held during SeOne's final weekend, but not to claim without further evidence that it was the venue's absolute last public event.
