Catalogue note
Original fold-out programme for Pure X in conjunction with Total Confusion at The Sanctuary, Milton Keynes, on 5 October 1996. Arena 1 carried a major drum & bass bill; Arena 2 staged Happy Hardcore versus Old Skool 89–93. The programme also promotes a Fused Internet Magazine live link-up with video and music from the event intended for online transmission.
Advertised programme: Arena 1 — Drum & Bass: Micky Finn, Hype, Fabio, G E Real, Jumping Jack Frost, Kemistry & Storm, Randall back-to-back Andy C, Ray Keith, Dr S Gachet, Brian Gee back-to-back Roni Size; MCs GQ, MC MC and MC Fearless. Arena 2 — Total Confusion: Happy Hardcore — Slipmatt, Sy, Dougal, Vibes; versus Old Skool 89–93 — Easygroove, Ratty, Nicky Blackmarket, Top Buzz. Warming up: Gappa G back-to-back Penfold. MCs: Magika, Storm, Hooligan, Juiceman, Ravski.
Graphic-design significance: The cover uses a saturated digital-futurist aesthetic: chrome PURE-X lettering, planetary imagery, warped checkerboard surfaces and liquid metallic forms. Fused Internet Magazine and 'to the Core' branding sit within the artwork. No named designer credit is visible.
Historical context: Phatmedia independently identifies the exact 5 October 1996 event. MixesDB preserves an Andy C set from the night, while surviving archive uploads preserve Micky Finn, Randall and Kemistry & Storm sets. The programme's internet-broadcast language adds a distinct digital-media dimension.
Condition note: Good to Very Good appearance, ungraded. Original folds intact with fold whitening, edge/corner handling, small scuffs and a few tiny nicks. Colour remains strong and dense programme/outlet text is legible. No major tear or missing panel visible.
Confidence / uncertainty: The date, venue, hours, £18.50 price, two-arena format, complete line-up, Fused branding, printed web address and live-internet-party claim are physically verified. The phrase 'first ever worldwide live internet party link up' is retained strictly as a printed promoter/media claim.
