Event
Rapido — 'Only 4 the Head Strong', Saturday 27 July 1991 all-night rave; promoted as a temporary final London Rapido event
Promoter
Rapido — original branding uses large RAPIDO RAVES circular logo; older 1990 Rapido flyers independently documented by first-person period-flyer archives. 'Only 4 the Head Strong' is printed slogan/event phrasing rather than a verified independent promoter.
Venue
Michael Sobell Sports Centre
Location
London N7, Islington (as physically printed). Hornsey Road locality is separately documented by TMR-000921 for the same venue, not an address printed on this Rapido sheet. Do not mix with another London sports centre.
Advertised hours
Saturday 27 July 1991 10pm to Sunday 28 July 8am (ten hours advertised), physically printed '10PM TILL 8AM'.
Original admission / price
£18 in advance AND booking fee ('£18 in advance & b/fee' original wording). Tickets at agents/outlets until Wed 24 July, then promoter's Rapido office or The Core on Saturday nights as printed; not object resale value.
Designer
Kevin White — VERIFIED direct printed work-level credit 'Design by Kevin White 071 250 0532' on reverse. A distinct evidence-limited person authority is proposed. No independent career biography or creator of each source-image element established.
Format
One original double-sided rectangular single-sheet club/rave flyer, largely blue-green/black and off-white sci-fi image on front, pale cream reverse with inventive concentric/rotated blue ink programme, 1991 DJ names and multiple ticketing lists. Period collector sales list other Rapido A4 examples, but this owner copy has not been measured.
Dimensions
Unknown; no direct measurements supplied for physical owner copy. A4 is an unverified third-party description of another 1991 Rapido example, not a measured value.
Orientation
Single rectangular sheet with deliberately rotated vertical/diagonal front title and pictorial composition, reverse concentric text and mixed orientation; preserve original owner-supplied aspect, edge margin and reading directions.
Original / reproduction
Appearance and documentation consistent with contemporary 1991 promotional paper: printed explicit date/venue, period pre-decimal/telephone formats, age-related marks, original designer credit and independently documented promoter period. No forensic original-impression or limited-edition authentication.
Edition / variant
Saturday 27 July 1991 at Michael Sobell Sports Centre, cosmic black-green planets/space city cover, rotated RAPIDO RAVES seal and vertical event date; reverse curved 'ONLY 4 THE HEAD STRONG' programme, Kevin White design credit, £18 price and 'last rave in London for a while' copy. Distinguish from Rapido 24 Nov/15 Dec 1990, separate 1991 dates, and same-venue Technodrome 1 June 1991.
Condition
Good to Very Good, provisional assessment from the owner photographs: visible across-face fold/crease, perimeter scuffs and scattered mild discolouration.
Completeness
Apparently complete original two-sided single-sheet period flyer; full space image/front and blue-printed programme/reverse, original agent network and printed street map present. No detached supplements, voucher or tickets evidenced as an included original attachment.
Absolute rarity
Unknown: no secure original print run, rarity class, surviving-copy census, numbered edition, first impression or printed production quantity. Other sellers' asking prices are not sale evidence.

Catalogue note

Original double-sided Rapido rave flyer for 'Only 4 The Head Strong' at Michael Sobell Sports Centre, London N7, Saturday 27 July 1991, 10pm–8am. Its stark cosmic landscape/planetary city illustration and radial blue-on-cream programme were designed by Kevin White, named directly on the reverse. It advertises Rat Pack, Loftgroover, Fabio, Micky Finn, Slipmatt, Devious D and additional historic DJs, MC General Hardcore/Mr Ugly, and a Major Jump PA attraction. The back records £18 advance+booking fee, an extensive 1991 national ticket network, radio mentions and an advertised 10 August Peterborough date. Remarkably, Rapido states this will be its 'last rave in London for a while', a historically important contemporary promoter intention. TMR already holds separate 1 June 1991 Technodrome at the same venue; independent collector archives document Rapido nights in 1990.

Advertised programme: Prominently printed curved word DEXOMANIAC (exact role/identity uncertain). Named billed roster: RATPACK; Loft groover; Fabio; MICKY FINN; TURKAY; Slipmatt; LSD; AUBURY; DEVIOUS 'D'; Shaggy & Breeze. Separately printed MCs: GENERAL HARDCORE; MR UGLY and guests. ATTRACTIONS also contains 'MAJOR JUMP P.A.' but nature of act/production contribution is unresolved. Securely identified Rat Pack, Loftgroover, Fabio, Micky Finn, Slipmatt and Devious D reuse principal TMR People. Do NOT automatically link 'Shaggy' to the Jamaican pop/reggae performer, 'AUBURY' to a different DJ Aubrey, or LSD to an unverified group. All are advertised claims, not proof of performed sets.

Graphic-design significance: The pictorial face uses black and pale sea-green/cream science-fiction imagery: a monumental alien/built city hanging into a jagged lunar valley beneath three planet/moon spheres and sparse stars, with circular RAPIDO RAVES seal and vertical date on the right. Reverse is particularly unusual information design, with concentric rings/rotated arcs reading 'ONLY 4 THE HEAD STRONG', MICHAEL SOBELL SPORTS CENTRE, LONDON N7 and SATURDAY 27TH JULY 1991, a radial DEXOMANIAC/RATPACK DJ cluster, radio text, postal agent directories and a hand-drawn route map. Unlike many uncredited rave originals, graphic design is directly credited to Kevin White. The cosmic image's separate illustrator remains unknown.

Historical context: Rapido is independently represented by preserved original promotional sheets for 24 November 1990 Silver City in Lordship Lane and 15 December 1990 at The Loft on Shoreditch High Street; an individual archivist attended the latter and describes the promoter and surrounding pirate-radio network. This original advertises a new Rapido night for Saturday 27 July 1991 at Michael Sobell Sports Centre in London N7, a venue also used by Technodrome on 1 June 1991 (held as TMR-000921). It promotes Rat Pack, Loftgroover, Fabio, Micky Finn, Slipmatt and Devious D among less-researched billed stage names. The reverse directly states 'this is our last rave in London for a while', a 1991 promoter intention, not independent proof all subsequent Rapido London shows ceased; additionally it advertises 10 August at Mallard Park Hotel, Peterborough as a FUTURE DATE, not a verified event taking place. References to Kiss 100 FM, Hardcore FM, Chilling FM, Friends FM document the radio/rave ecosystem without establishing each station as a sponsor. £18 advance plus booking fee, ticket-shop network, dedicated office sales and The Core all-night shop/club contact illustrate rave promotion infrastructure. External specialist tape indexes contain Ratpack at Rapido in DECEMBER 1990 only; no authenticated DJ tape of the July 1991 event has been identified.

Production note: Two-tone/monochromatic blue/green-black original sci-fi space image with typographic logo on one side, largely single-colour dark-blue display/body type on pale reverse; precise press process, paper weight, surface treatment and print quantity unknown.

Condition note: Original dark black-green science-fiction pictorial face remains readable, but clearly exhibits a horizontal old crease/fold traversing near the centre, white edge rubs particularly around upper and side margins, softened corners and light abrasions/scattered pale specks. Reverse is fully legible across circular lettering and fine ticket-shop listings, though there is moderate age-related surface mottling/smudging near top/right, shallow crease marks and small grey handling marks near the lower corners. No major paper loss or long open tear obvious in provided views. Exact paper dimensions, stock stability, conservation history and possible hidden repairs unverified.

Confidence / uncertainty: Physically verified explicit Saturday July 27 1991, 10pm–8am and venue London N7, Kevin White graphic design, the circular programme and future/office/radio language. A large arched word appears to read DEXOMANIAC; it is retained exactly but its role as DJ, act or themed grouping is unresolved. 'AUBURY' is preserved as printed, rather than silently corrected to the different known alias Aubrey. 'MICKY FINN' mapped to main TMR Micky Finn not dormant Mickey Finn. Rat Pack canonical group, Loftgroover and Devious D securely identified; 'Shaggy & Breeze' not assumed reggae singer Shaggy. MC names 'GENERAL HARDCORE' and 'MR UGLY' are printed without secure external identities. Some attraction names are ambiguous promotional promises. Rapido earlier audio from 1990 is independent cross-event context only.
