Read the catalogue note →- Event
- The Bliss Organisation & Liberty present 11 hours of absolute ENCHANTMENT, Saturday 23 November 1991
- Promoter
- THE BLISS ORGANISATION and LIBERTY explicitly appear as dual event presenters on the original reverse, with separate logos. Both matching extant canonical TMR organisations reused. 1991 local Liberty event at Bowes Lyon under '1st Promotions (GB)' is contextual, not evidence that the same organiser produced Enchantment at the Arts Centre.
- Venue
- Stevenage Arts & Leisure Centre
- Location
- Lytton Way, Stevenage, Hertfordshire, England, near the Stevenage railway station / A1(M) Junction 7. No individual street number printed; primary physical reverse names venue and town and contemporaneous Ravescene calls it 'Stevenage Arts Centre'.
- Advertised hours
- Saturday 23 November 1991 9:00pm–8:00am Sunday 24 November, eleven hours advertised. Entry expressly prohibited after 1:30am including ticket holders.
- Original admission / price
- £17.00 in advance. Text states that the ticket entitles holder to full 'Enchantment' membership. Door price not printed, and advance ticket purchase was promoted to guarantee entry before 1:30am. Separate VIP '£5.00 donation to Lister Kidney Foundation' wording is retained as printed, not treated as basic ticket price, an assessed value or confirmed transfer.
- Designer
- Not credited or reliably independently attributed for this exact original. Bliss later commissioned PEZ on other distinct 1992 flyers, but no basis to transfer his credit to this 23 November 1991 Enchantment illustration.
- Format
- Original double-sided single-sheet flyer/promo handbill, portrait illustrated front and landscape programme, production details, ticket agents and rules reverse. No paper measurements provided and no original detachable ticket/insert shown.
- Dimensions
- Unknown; paper not physically measured by owner. Do not borrow A4/A3 descriptions from a later 1992 Enchantment seller listing.
- Orientation
- Portrait front with coloured central spiritual/cosmic collage; reverse presented in landscape reading orientation, including logos/ticket agents across a horizontal panel.
- Original / reproduction
- High-confidence original 1991 period club promotion from owner paper appearance, fully date-specific double-sided promotional text, 1991 venue details and independently contemporaneous Ravescene listing. Exact first-print impression, edition/variant and forensic originality not authenticated in hand.
- Edition / variant
- Specific Saturday 23 November 1991 Bliss Organisation & Liberty '11 Hours of Absolute Enchantment' at Stevenage Arts & Leisure Centre, with black Enchantment/orange-gold mystic pictorial cover and white/black two-promoter reverse. Different from later 24 April 1992 Enchantment at the same venue, Liberty's Bowes Lyon Centre dates or later unrelated Enchantment branded events.
- Condition
- Good to Very Good, provisional photographic grade. Full colour and both original sides intact with light corner/edge and surface ageing.
- Completeness
- Apparently complete original two-sided self-contained rave flyer, illustrated front and reverse with named acts, dates, ticketing, services and rules visible. No original insert, detachable ticket, envelope or membership card was shown or is known to have been attached.
- Absolute rarity
- Unknown — no authenticated print run, publisher edition, original impression count, surviving-copy census, limited state or scarcity premium.

Catalogue note
Original double-sided Bliss Organisation and Liberty Enchantment rave flyer for Saturday 23 November 1991, Stevenage Arts & Leisure Centre, Lytton Way, 9pm–8am. An exceptional cosmic/spiritual image with a luminous mystic amid Earth, pyramids, environmental, technological and astronomical vignettes fronts a detailed reverse promising Colin Dale, DJ Seduction, Batch, Swann-E, Top Buzz, Richie Fingers, Kenny Ken, Justin Kayle, MC Moose and live Existence. The advertisement preserves £17 advance tickets with membership, a £5 VIP kidney-foundation donation reference, entry and licensing rules, a national record-shop ticket network and elaborate contemporary sound/laser/UV/video spectacle ambitions. Contemporary Ravescene Magazeen Issue 2 independently lists this exact Bliss/Liberty Stevenage event. Nearby Liberty and later Bliss events are already in TMR but none matches this November 1991 print.
Advertised programme: VINYL WIZARDS OF THE NIGHT: COLIN DALE; SEDUCTION; BATCH; SWAN-E; TOP BUZZ; MC MOOSE; RICHIE FINGERS; KENNY KEN; JUSTIN KAYLE. Distinguish 8 separately billed DJs (all other names) from the explicitly marked MC MOOSE. LIVE ON STAGE: EXISTENCE (one billed live act). These are pre-event advertisements, not independent proof of any act playing. The stage identities Batch, Justin Kayle, MC Moose and Existence have no securely researched civil/group attribution.
Graphic-design significance: Contrasting front and reverse are highly characteristic of ambitious early rave print: a monumental radiant orange shrine-like pavilion and bearded mystic/meditating figure at centre of a black starfield, surrounded by high-impact small vignettes of illuminated Earth, natural and cosmic phenomena, pyramids, video/psychedelic symbols and the Statue of Liberty. An ornate lowercase peach-orange ENCHANTMENT wordmark spans the top. The back uses stark black/white typography, large 'Vinyl Wizards of the Night' cast and opposing circular Buddha/torch Liberty organisational emblems. Detailed printed design gives museum-level visual iconography even though exact original illustrator/designer is unknown.
Historical context: An original 23 Nov 1991 two-promoter Bliss Organisation/Liberty Enchantment event at Stevenage Arts & Leisure Centre, advertised 9pm–8am. The event has rare CONTEMPORARY external witness: Ravescene Magazeen issue 2 published c. 8 Nov 1991 lists 'Enchantment (Bliss & Liberty)' at 'Stevenage Arts Centre' on the exact Saturday. The line-up on flyer comprises eight DJs Colin Dale, Seduction, Batch, Swan-E, Top Buzz, Richie Fingers, Kenny Ken and Justin Kayle, an additional named MC Moose and live group Existence. Sound ambitions include a claimed 45K Martin F2 rig with Servo-Drive bass (Encore), Liberty-programmed laser graphics/humanoids, a 100-foot strobe wall, multiscreen live video scratching, UV art and dance platforms. The original asserts a legal/private licensed rave and 'loudest ever' based on non-residential site, advertises £17 advance tickets (including Enchantment membership) and warns no entry after 1:30am even with tickets; these statements are promoter claims, not independently audited. It also literally prints a VIP £5 donation to Lister Kidney Foundation without proving whether donations were made. Historic England's Stevenage town centre research records the venue's period orange exterior and 1991 building renovations, providing useful independent architectural context; existing TMR flyers later document the same venue in 1992 and 1996. Liberty at Bowes Lyon Centre and Bliss' later World Dance at Lydd are different promoter activities, not this event.
Production note: Full-colour illustration/photomontage front with vivid orange-gold central panel over dark starfield, surrounding blue/green/purple vignettes, and mostly black/white reverse featuring dense original venue, musical and promotional information. Exact printing method, stock and print quantity unverified.
Condition note: Original front retains rich orange central artwork, intact ENCHANTMENT wordmark and complete side-panel illustrations, with slight top-edge and upper-corner rub/softening, a few small pale scratches or handling specks across black sky and some fine surface scuffing. Reverse black-and-white text/logos remains highly legible with minor marginal discolouration/handling and corner softening, a few subtle scattered stains/specks in pale lower panel but no clearly substantial tear, lost corner, strong fold or major print loss. Dimensions, coating, stock stability, hidden repairs/tape/pin traces and any unseen defects are not checked in hand.
Confidence / uncertainty: Date, exact venue location, 9pm–8am, Bliss/Liberty logos, performer names, Existence live, £17 advance/membership, no entrance after 1:30am, laser/sound claims, charitable VIP reference and agent list are physically verified. Ravescene shortened 'Stevenage Arts Centre' vs physical 'Arts & Leisure Centre' is explicitly retained; Historic England supports the historical building description. Original 'SWAN-E' is preserved but associated with principal well-linked TMR Swann-E, not dormant 'Swan-E' zero-object authority. 'SEDUCTION' links main DJ Seduction. 'RICHIE FINGERS' corroborated as a recurring stage name on a different later TMR flyer, but legal identity unverified. DJ Batch, Justin Kayle, MC Moose, and Existence left as literal billing with no invented personal/grouplevel aliases. Don't infer named person from meditating artwork or assert its origin, and don't transfer PEZ work-for-Bliss on other dates to this item.
