Catalogue note

Two-ounce .999 silver Upper Deck James Bond Premium Silver S-8 card featuring Timothy Dalton as James Bond in Licence to Kill, with original manufacturer seal retained.

Condition: Silver card appears strong and complete with no obvious major bends, deformation or gross tarnish visible through the sealed holder. Exact surface grading is not reliable through the case. Outer rigid case shows moderate normal scratching/scuffing and handling wear; top seal remains present with age/handling wear to adhesive/tape.

Completeness: Original Upper Deck rigid presentation case retained with top manufacturer tamper/seal strip visibly present. Preserve sealed.

Mintage / issue limit: Print run /25 according to current COMC/eBay catalogue records for exact S-8. No individual serial number visible in supplied photographs; no xx/25 number invented.

Rarity / replaceability: Genuinely scarce / very low replaceability. Print run of 25. Intact original sealed-holder examples are especially preservation-worthy.

Public provenance: Original manufacturer sealed presentation retained.

Authentication: Physical design, copyright/licensing text, Upper Deck branding, S-8 identification and sealed presentation format are visually consistent with known examples. No laboratory metal test performed; silver content accepted from manufacturer’s printed specification and catalogue records.

Uncertainties: Formal set year is 2020, but physical product release was delayed to 22 September 2021; preserve both. | Individual serial number not visible; only /25 print run recorded. | No independent laboratory assay performed.

Legacy record ID: Record #007

Why this object matters

The sealed two-ounce S-8 object is a distinctive crossover between trading-card redemption and precious-metal manufacture. Its Dalton/Licence to Kill image strengthens the Bond sequence, but subject recognition and metal content do not justify an additional historical premium over its material-format contribution.

Evidence limits: No new physical inspection or collation was performed. Copy-specific conclusions remain limited to the retained catalogue and accession evidence.

Uncertainties

  • Formal set year is 2020, but physical product release was delayed to 22 September 2021; preserve both. | Individual serial number not visible; only /25 print run recorded. | No independent laboratory assay performed.
