Catalogue note
Original double-sided flyer for Hardcore Heaven at The Sanctuary Music Arena, Milton Keynes, on 24 February 1996, the event identified in surviving tape-pack catalogues as “The First Event.” The signed PEZ front depicts a monumental cybernetic female head over a futuristic arena landscape. The reverse documents 21 DJs and six MCs across a main hardcore arena and a second tekno/hard-trance arena, with a Force & Evolution live PA, nationwide ticket outlets, £17.50 advance admission, large-scale sound/lighting production, and a notice that the night would be recorded for future CD, vinyl and cassette release. Surviving recordings of this exact event give the flyer unusually strong documentary links between printed promotion and the music actually performed.
Advertised programme: Main Arena: Unknown; Ramos + Supreme; Demand; Billy Bunter; Clarkee; Vinyl Groover; Vibes; Seduction; Dougal; Slipmatt; Sy. Special live PA: Force & Evolution. MCs: Magika; Sharkey; Charlie B; Freestyle; Marley. Arena 2 (Tekno & Hard Trance): Ribbs; M-Zone; Brisk; Hixxy; Lomas; Druid; Warlock; Producer; Scorpio. MCs: Ribbs; Sharkey.
Graphic-design significance: Signed PEZ sci-fi/fantasy artwork centres a monumental cybernetic female head above a futuristic arena landscape, combining airbrushed illustration with metallic gradient Hardcore Heaven typography. It is a strong example of the hand-made surreal visual language associated with mid-1990s British rave promotion.
Historical context: Specialist archives catalogue 24 February 1996 as Hardcore Heaven’s first event in the surviving Sanctuary event/tape-pack sequence. The reverse presents five leading DJs/label figures as bringing the event together and prints a two-arena programme. It also states that the event would be recorded live for future release on triple CD, vinyl and cassette; surviving commercial/archive copies of the event’s tape and CD material confirm that this night generated a substantial recorded afterlife.
Condition note: Strong colour and legibility on both sides. A historic central vertical fold is visible, with light handling creases, mild edge/corner wear and some waviness/creasing along the lower edge. No major tears or material loss are visible in the supplied photographs.

Why this object matters
The signed PEZ sheet documents the start of Hardcore Heaven's Sanctuary phase and its relationship to label networks and separate tekno/hard-trance programming. Retain Gold above the later album-launch companion, but the words First Event are not evidence of the brand's first event ever or a foundational genre origin. The former 9.5 overstated that scope.
Evidence limits: No new physical inspection or collation was performed. Copy-specific conclusions remain limited to the retained catalogue and accession evidence.
