Catalogue note
Original Club Kinetic programme flyer covering six consecutive Fridays at The Leisurebowl, Longton, from 8 January to 12 February 1993. It documents Grooverider, Top Buzz, DJ SS, Slipmatt, Ratty, Easygroove, Ray Keith, Mickey Finn, Ellis Dee, Seduction and others alongside recurring regional/resident performers. A 29 January 'Best of the South' theme night featured 2 For Joy live. The flyer also preserves membership, merchandise and location infrastructure, while its reverse carries a bold concentric-rainbow Club Kinetic identity. Institutional and contemporary evidence independently confirms Club Kinetic's Leisurebowl operation in this exact early-1993 period.
Advertised programme: 8 Jan: Grooverider, The Music Maker, Freshtrax, Daz Willot; Ryan, Diamond, Daba, Rhythm Division. 15 Jan: Top Buzz, Daz Willot, SS, Full Effects; Ryan, Diamond, Daba, Rhythm Division. 22 Jan: Daz Willot, Slipmatt, Ratty, Easygroove; Ryan, Diamond, Daba, Rhythm Division. 29 Jan theme night 'Best of the South': live PA 2 For Joy, Neil Vas, Seduction, Ray Keith, Mickey Finn; Ryan, Diamond, Daba, Rhythm Division. 5 Feb: Full Effects, Top Buzz, Devious 'D', Daz Willot; Diamond, Daba, Rhythm Division, Ryan. 12 Feb: Mikey B, Daz Willot, Ellis Dee, Seduction; Diamond, Daba, Rhythm Division, Ryan.
Graphic-design significance: One face is a dense six-week timetable arranged in coloured horizontal panels; the reverse becomes pure Club Kinetic branding, with a central spherical Kinetic logo surrounded by concentric rainbow/elliptical rings on black. The logo slogan reads 'THE ONE AND ONLY — IMITATED BUT NEVER EQUALLED'. Active inspection finds no visible artist/designer signature, monogram, printer or studio credit; external research yielded no defensible designer attribution.
Historical context: Northwestern University's British Rave Flyers Collection preserves a Club Kinetic / Leisure Bowl item dated 19 February–26 March 1993, immediately following this programme, confirming institutional survival of the same venue/promoter sequence. A contemporary Music Week issue of 6 February 1993 lists Club Kinetic at the Leisurebowl, Longton, Stoke-on-Trent, Fridays 8pm–2am, describing a 4K Basebox main room, a 6K Mind Gym and three top hardcore guest DJs each week. This programme sits directly within a well-attested early phase of the club.
Production note: Full-colour printed flyer with saturated geometric/rainbow graphics; exact printing process and stock not established.
Condition note: Very Good appearance, ungraded. Light edge/corner handling and minor surface marks; small local marks/abrasions near lower/right programme edge. Colours remain exceptionally strong and text fully legible. No major folds, tears or substantial paper loss apparent.
Confidence / uncertainty: Exact programme period, venue, hours, admission and printed bills physically verified. Existing TMR People authorities reused for major identifiable DJs. 'Ratty' is linked conservatively to existing DJ Ratty authority despite duplicate Ratty/DJ Ratty authorities being present; authority duplication should eventually be reconciled. Other less-secure printed credits remain unlinked pending identity resolution. Artist/designer actively researched but unknown.
