Catalogue note
Original 1992 flyer for 2000 AD Productions' recurring 'Atmosphere' Friday night at Paddocks / 121 Holborn EC1. The club ran 10pm–6am with a rotating pool of four Level One and four Level Two DJs each week, including Randall, Peshay, Warlock and Billy (Daniel) Bunter. Contemporary Ravescene listings independently place Atmosphere / 2000 AD at the same Holborn venue in September 1992, while the front artwork itself bears a ©92 signature.
Advertised programme: Level One pool: Randall, Unity, Adrian Age, Peshay, Warlock, A-Z, Roger Johnson, Steve Thomas and Billy (Daniel) Bunter. Level Two pool: Sarah H.B., Harvey, Femi B., Ginge, Dean Savonne, Eze B., Pepe, Stuart Mayo, Pele and Matthew Maurice. Flyer states four DJs from each level would be used each week.
Graphic-design significance: The front is a vivid airbrushed science-fiction composition of silhouetted dancers suspended inside glowing red spheres connected by electrical arcs, set against a deep blue/purple atmospheric field. The reverse is starkly utilitarian, using oversized red and black type to separate the two DJ levels. A stylised signature with ©92 survives at lower left, but the artist's full identity is not confidently resolved.
Historical context: Contemporary Ravescene listings place Atmosphere (2000 AD) at Paddocks, 121 Holborn in September 1992, confirming the promoter/venue relationship in the same year indicated by the signed artwork. Billy Daniel Bunter has independently recalled beginning his DJ career at Labrynth/2000AD around 1989–90, placing 2000 AD within the formative London rave network. The flyer therefore documents a central-London weekly club programme during the period when breakbeat hardcore was moving toward jungle.
Production note: Full-colour airbrushed/illustrated front and red/black typographic reverse on coated paper/card stock; exact printing process and stock weight not established.
Condition note: Very Good appearance, ungraded. Light edge and corner handling, minor surface marks and a small cluster of pin/staple-type punctures near the right edge. Colours remain strong and all reverse text is fully legible. No major tears, folds or paper loss visible.
Confidence / uncertainty: The venue address, hours, admission, weekly Friday format, two-level DJ pools and promoter identity are physically verified. The year 1992 is strongly supported by the front's ©92 signature and contemporary Ravescene evidence, but the exact start/end dates of the weekly Friday run are unknown. The separate Saturday 26 September 1992 Ravescene listing may represent another Atmosphere event at the same venue and is not treated as the date of this specific weekly flyer. Several listed DJs remain unresolved beyond the printed names.
