8–30 April 1993 (high-confidence attribution; no year in date headings) · ★ Gold Star object
Original A4 landscape two-sided Equinox at Milwaukees April flyer, Funhouse Promotions, for Thursday 8 and Fridays 16/23/30 April (1993 strongly supported by correct calendar weekdays, same-flyer '1993 1994' promoter copy and first-person artist archive image filenames, despite mistaken online 1995 captions). Exceptionally vivid fractal-style full-colour 3D 'equinox' cover with functional violet-blue programme back. Individually printed DJ lists include Mastersafe, DJ SS, Slipmatt, Ellis Dee, Frost, Dougal, Donovan Bad Boy Smith, Torchman, DJ Hype, LTJ Bukem, Top Buzz, Doc Scott, Bassline Smith, Tango, DJ Rap, Fabio, Carl Cox, Grooverider, DJ Sy, Micky Finn, Ray Keith and others. Juiceman, Hooligan and Conrad are general MCs. Promoter publicly rebuts closure rumours, praises commitment to hardcore and promises continuation 1993/94; all promotional claims preserved separately from verified outcomes. Advertises Fridays 9pm–6am, £12 all night; Thursday terms unknown. Existing 1992, autumn 1993 and 1995 Equinox originals are related but not duplicate.

Catalogue note
Original A4 landscape two-sided Equinox at Milwaukees April flyer, Funhouse Promotions, for Thursday 8 and Fridays 16/23/30 April (1993 strongly supported by correct calendar weekdays, same-flyer '1993 1994' promoter copy and first-person artist archive image filenames, despite mistaken online 1995 captions). Exceptionally vivid fractal-style full-colour 3D 'equinox' cover with functional violet-blue programme back. Individually printed DJ lists include Mastersafe, DJ SS, Slipmatt, Ellis Dee, Frost, Dougal, Donovan Bad Boy Smith, Torchman, DJ Hype, LTJ Bukem, Top Buzz, Doc Scott, Bassline Smith, Tango, DJ Rap, Fabio, Carl Cox, Grooverider, DJ Sy, Micky Finn, Ray Keith and others. Juiceman, Hooligan and Conrad are general MCs. Promoter publicly rebuts closure rumours, praises commitment to hardcore and promises continuation 1993/94; all promotional claims preserved separately from verified outcomes. Advertises Fridays 9pm–6am, £12 all night; Thursday terms unknown. Existing 1992, autumn 1993 and 1995 Equinox originals are related but not duplicate.
Advertised programme: Thursday 8: Mastersafe, DJ SS (printed SS), Slipmatt, Ellis Dee, Jumping Jack Frost, Dougal, The Fat Controller, Donovan Bad Boy Smith. Friday 16: Torchman, DJ Hype, LTJ Bukem, Master Lee, Top Buzz, Mastersafe, Doc Scott, Simon Bassline Smith. Friday 23: DJ Tango, DJ Rap (printed RAP), Hardcore Massive, Fabio, Carl Cox, Grooverider, Dougal, DJ Sy. Friday 30: Donovan Bad Boy Smith, Jumping Jack Frost, Micky Finn (printed MICKEY FINN), LTJ Bukem, Master Lee, Ellis Dee, Ray Keith, Pigbag. Shared weekly MC list: JUICE MAN; HOOLIGAN; CONRAD, not linked to individual nights. Advertised, not confirmed performances.
Graphic-design significance: Saturated red/orange/yellow/green/violet-blue optical/fractal artwork with visually monumental peach-orange 3D-extruded EQUINOX lettering, stacked black/white typographic depth lines and small 'AT milwaukees' logo. Back's cooler purple-and-cyan geometry with narrow reversed-type DJ columns, MC box, informational paragraphs, venue hub map and graphic ticket price creates a compelling contrast between expressive image and practical monthly dance programming. Artist Tim Waters's visual archive offers contemporary firsthand context for fractal art circulating into rave ephemera but no unambiguous claim he authored this complete design.
Historical context: The original Equinox weekly club launched in spring 1992 at rural Milwaukees, formerly a base for ESP/Helter Skelter shows, as discussed in specialist Borosix research. This April 1993 original documents an exceptional Thursday 8 April and three Friday dates, each with significant cross-regional hardcore and early-jungle booking (SS, Slipmatt, LTJ Bukem, Mastersafe, Doc Scott, Tango, DJ Rap, Fabio, Grooverider, Carl Cox, Ray Keith, Torchman, Fat Controller, Donovan Bad Boy Smith and more). A powerful promoter paragraph explicitly claims that, while other clubs became 'mellow', Equinox 'remained faithful to hardcore dance', calls Milwaukees 'the Midlands No. 1 venue', asserts packed houses and disputes club-closing rumours, promising to carry on through 1993 and 1994; these are promoters' assertions, not proof of attendance, future operation or licensing. Tim Waters's first-person art-history site reproduces the April scan under file names 'apr-1993' despite erroneous published '1995' captions, demonstrably inconsistent with actual weekday/date pairs. Other Equinox programs already held in TMR across 1992–95 permit a revealing longitudinal account of the Midlands hardcore-to-jungle scene.
Production note: Full-colour two-sided printed paper; exact computer image creation, printing method, press, stock and printer not documented.
Condition note: Vivid colour front largely intact, minor edge/corner wear, small surface scuffs and white flecks. Reverse fully legible but lower-right ticket box/corner has bent or crushed paper and local white surface/ink abrasion beneath £12; additional light margin scratches and surface marks. Do not grade mint/near fine; actual fold depth, underlying structural damage, exact dimensions and restoration history unverified.
Confidence / uncertainty: Date/day-of-week printed and calendar verified for 1993, supplemented by print '1993 1994' and primary artist-hosted filename. The full year is absent from the individual programme date headings, so date status provisional; contradictory 1995 image caption retained. 'EVERY FRIDAY' admission/hours do not automatically apply to Thursday. TMR People identities used for SS→DJ SS, HYPE→DJ Hype, RAP→DJ Rap, TANGO→DJ Tango, SY→DJ Sy, MICKEY FINN→Micky Finn, JUICE MAN→Juiceman, HOOLIGAN→MC Hooligan, CONRAD→MC Conrad; Fat Controller and Torchman proposed as distinct authorities. Master Lee, Hardcore Massive and Pigbag remain only print labels. Artwork maker unknown. No claim of actually played DJ sets, packed attendance, authorisation/licence, original quantities, exact paper dimensions or financial value.
