Clayton Cowles is a comic-book letterer whose credits appear across Marvel, DC and Image publications. He graduated from the Joe Kubert School in 2009 and began lettering professionally that year; his first Marvel assignment was Punisher Annual No. 1.
His work includes Daredevil, Star Wars and Batman, alongside Bitch Planet, Bitter Root, Die and The Wicked + The Divine. Marvel also credits him on A.X.E.: Judgment Day and Devil's Reign. The prefix “VC's” in his Marvel credits refers to Virtual Calligraphy, Chris Eliopoulos's lettering studio. Marvel's 2022 profile identifies Cowles as one of its letterers.
