Catalogue note

Original double-sided flyer for Hysteria presents Pure X Part 7, “The Eighth Wonder of the World”, at The Sanctuary Warehouse, Milton Keynes, on 21 January 1995. The front uses a highly saturated cosmic Popz composition with metallic typography, two stylised embracing figures and an illustrated Sanctuary complex. The reverse records a very large two-arena DJ/MC programme, national ticket outlets, coach and information lines, a 100K JBL surround-sound system, dancers, lasers, video screens, projections, UV cannons, backdrops, chill-out provision, licensed bar, food, parking and fairground attractions. Its archival value is strengthened by sequence: TMR already preserves Pure X Part 8 (TMR-000653), whose flyer explicitly says Pure X was returning independently with no connection to Hysteria. Part 7 therefore documents the immediately preceding Hysteria/Pure X collaborative phase. Specialist tracklist archives also preserve recordings from this exact event, allowing the printed object to be connected to surviving evidence of the music actually played.

Advertised programme: Main Arena: Grooverider; GE Real; Mickey Finn; Sy; DJ Rap; Slipmatt; Jumpin Jack Frost; Ray Keith; Randall; Dougal; Hype; DJ Vibes. MCs: MCGQ; Mad P; MCMC; Robbie Dee; Magika. Arena 2: Darren Jay; DJ Ron; SS; Andy C; Devious D; Peshay; X.T.C.; Penfold; Diamond C; Promis; E.X.L. MCs: Warren G; Shock C; Chick-A-Boo; Q.C.; Super X; Wil Rob.

Graphic-design significance: Vivid early-digital/cosmic Popz design combining airbrushed/computer-generated space imagery, stylised embracing figures, metallic typography and an illustrated Sanctuary complex. The reverse production line physically credits Popz for computer graphics and flyer design.

Historical context: The event sits at a significant early-1995 point when jungle/drum & bass and happy-hardcore lineages still shared major rave bills. Within TMR it also directly precedes Pure X Part 8 (TMR-000653), whose surviving flyer explicitly announces Pure X as back on its own with no connection to Hysteria, making Part 7 especially useful evidence of the preceding collaborative phase.

Condition note: Strong colour and substantial legibility on both sides. Historic fold creases, edge and corner wear, surface handling/scuffing and smaller local creases are visible. A more pronounced lower-edge/lower-centre crease or abrasion is visible on the reverse. No major material loss is apparent in the supplied views.

Confidence / uncertainty: Exact dimensions and printing stock/method have not been measured or independently established.

Event details are drawn from the held object and the qualified catalogue research above. A printed bill establishes an advertised booking, not confirmation that a performer appeared.

Why this object matters

The Hysteria/Pure X collaboration and exact Popz design credit acquire specific documentary value when read with Part 8's printed separation. Retain threshold Gold for the pair's direct evidence of organisational change, aligning with Part 8 rather than granting the earlier bill a larger importance premium.

Evidence limits: Exact dimensions and printing stock/method have not been measured or independently established. Complete double-sided single-sheet flyer as photographed; front and reverse are present. No additional insert, ticket or premium is evidenced as an integral component of this object.
