Catalogue note

Original fold-out admission leaflet for Manumission's 1996 World Series Chicago episode at Privilege, Ibiza, on Monday 5 August. Episode 8 presents Sarah as 'Miss Chicago' with pizza-themed pin-up imagery and, more importantly, brings Farley Jackmaster Funk and Marshall Jefferson into the City of the Week narrative as representatives of Chicago house. The reverse/editorial panel explains Chicago's role in house music, while the coupon turns the object into a practical club document: 4,500 pesetas and a free drink with the flyer, versus 5,500 without. A Dazed & Confused logo is printed 'in association with', giving this episode an unusually strong connection between Ibiza superclub culture, Chicago house and British youth-media publishing.

Advertised programme: Farley Jackmaster Funk; Marshall Jefferson; MYSCIENTISTS; Danielle Davoli; Alfredo; Cesar de Melero; Salvador on percussion; Manumission residents Griff & Jay. The spread also prints 'IN ASSOCIATION WITH' beside a Dazed & Confused logo. Printed forms are preserved; not every name/logo is expanded into a permanent authority.

Graphic-design significance: Part of Manumission's serial World Series campaign: city-specific pin-up photography, food imagery, faux-editorial typography and a functional admission coupon are combined into one collectable designed object. The Chicago episode uses pizza as the visual motif and prints the series' instruction to collect all 14 World Series pin-up girl flyers.

Historical context: Manumission's own archive describes the 1996 World Series as a sequence in which each week recreated a global clubbing capital and paired that city with representative DJs. The Chicago leaflet names Farley Jackmaster Funk and Marshall Jefferson and prints retrospective claims about their roles in house history. Those claims are preserved as 1996 promotional/editorial rhetoric, not adopted uncritically as settled music-history fact. The physical spread also prints an 'in association with' Dazed & Confused logo, creating a direct material link between the club campaign and a major British youth-culture publication.

Production note: Glossy printed stock; exact printing process not established from supplied photographs.

Condition note: Very Good appearance from supplied photographs. Original fold lines are strong but intact; light edge and surface handling wear is visible. A faint handwritten pencil '14' appears on one pin-up panel. No major tear, paper loss or heavy staining is visible in the supplied views.

Confidence / uncertainty: The exact event date is verified from the printed Monday 5 August plus the documented 1996 campaign. The model is identified only as 'SARAH' / 'MISS CHICAGO'; no fuller identity is inferred. 'MYSCIENTISTS' is retained exactly as a printed co-starring logo/name because its underlying identity is unresolved. The precise contractual/editorial nature of the printed Dazed & Confused association is not independently established.
