Catalogue note

Original fold-out programme for World Dance's 'The April Fools Ball' at the Main Hangar & Warehouse, Lydd International Airport, on 1 April 1995. The Main Hangar bills Grooverider, Kenny Ken, Slipmatt, Ellis Dee, Randall, Hype, Swan-E and others, while the Warehouse carries Phil Perry, Frankie Valentine, Luv Dup, Queen Maxine, Cleveland City and Danny Hodges. The programme includes a nationwide ticket-outlet directory and a physically printed 1995 flyer credit to Damon.

Advertised programme: Main Hangar: Grooverider, Kenny Ken, Slipmatt, Ellis Dee, Randall, DJ Hype, Swan-E, Vibes, Vinyl Groover, Pooch; MC Fearless; MC Stevie-Hyper. Warehouse: Phil Perry, Frankie Valentine, Luv Dup, Queen Maxine, Cleveland City, Danny Hodges.

Graphic-design significance: The cover replaces the earlier PEZ-led World Dance visual language with a more surreal mid-1990s computer-collage aesthetic: a jester sits among reflective spheres in an impossible purple seascape beneath a chrome World Dance mark. The interior continues that metallic / magenta language with event photographs and a playing-card jester motif. The reverse physically credits Damon, providing a rare named design attribution within the World Dance sequence.

Historical context: Phatmedia independently catalogues World Dance's April Fools Ball at Lydd International Airport on 1 April 1995. A surviving April 1995 Generator listing independently reproduces the event date, 9pm–7am hours, £19/£21/£23 ticket structure and the same principal two-arena line-up. The programme itself frames this as World Dance's first party of 1995 following a year of 'critical acclaim' and a Wembley show; those evaluative claims are preserved as promoter testimony rather than independently verified fact.

Production note: Full-colour commercial print on coated paper/card stock; exact printing process and stock weight not established.

Condition note: Good to Very Good appearance, ungraded. Original fold remains intact with visible central fold wear, light edge and corner handling, minor surface rubbing and several small marginal scuffs. The lower-right cover corner shows slight creasing and the reverse edges show light wear. Colour remains strong and all text is fully legible; no major tear or missing panel is visible.

Confidence / uncertainty: The exact event date, hours, venue, ticket prices, two-arena line-up, information number, official outlets, security wording and Damon flyer credit are physically verified. The statement about receiving LIVE Magazine's 'Best Produced Dance Event' award for 1994 is preserved as World Dance's own printed claim and is not independently verified here. Lower-bill performers without secure TMR authorities remain exact printed credits.
