28 February 1992 · ★ Gold Star object

Original A4 double-sided ESP Dreamscape II ('The Standard Has Been Set') poster/flyer from Friday 28 February 1992, 8pm–7am, at Denbigh Leisure Park, V7 Saxon Street, Milton Keynes. The sequel to first Dreamscape TMR-000968 has a striking purple/blue-cloud woman's face and green Roman II, contrasting an original crowd photograph, magenta/green poster typography and national ticket/outlet network on the reverse. Ten DJs include Swann-E, Ellis Dee, Grooverider, LTJ Bukem, Bryan Gee, Top Buzz, Clarkee, Dougal, Easygroove, Seduction; MC Eze Vibe and Mad P ('Gru'some Two'some'), no live PAs. Eleven hours and £20 advance plus 10% booking document ESP's expanding warehouse operation. Exact event confirmed by original contemporary February 1992 Ravescene listing and Phatmedia, which credits design to The Adrenalin Corporation; studio founder Jim Tang independently corroborates Dreamscape design history. Original audience photo's precise date unknown. New distinct TMR event/physical artwork, not duplicate of earlier/later Dreamscape. Archival importance 9.7/10, no rarity/market-value inference.

Catalogue note

Original A4 double-sided ESP Dreamscape II ('The Standard Has Been Set') poster/flyer from Friday 28 February 1992, 8pm–7am, at Denbigh Leisure Park, V7 Saxon Street, Milton Keynes. The sequel to first Dreamscape TMR-000968 has a striking purple/blue-cloud woman's face and green Roman II, contrasting an original crowd photograph, magenta/green poster typography and national ticket/outlet network on the reverse. Ten DJs include Swann-E, Ellis Dee, Grooverider, LTJ Bukem, Bryan Gee, Top Buzz, Clarkee, Dougal, Easygroove, Seduction; MC Eze Vibe and Mad P ('Gru'some Two'some'), no live PAs. Eleven hours and £20 advance plus 10% booking document ESP's expanding warehouse operation. Exact event confirmed by original contemporary February 1992 Ravescene listing and Phatmedia, which credits design to The Adrenalin Corporation; studio founder Jim Tang independently corroborates Dreamscape design history. Original audience photo's precise date unknown. New distinct TMR event/physical artwork, not duplicate of earlier/later Dreamscape. Archival importance 9.7/10, no rarity/market-value inference.

Advertised programme: DJs as printed: SWAN'E; ELLIS DEE; GROOVER RIDER; LTJ BUKEM; BRYAN G; TOP BUZZ; CLARKEE; DOUGAL; EASY GROOVE; SEDUCTION. Canonical TMR links use Swann-E, Ellis Dee, Grooverider, LTJ Bukem, Bryan Gee, Top Buzz, Clarkee, Dougal, Easygroove and DJ Seduction. MC block reads 'THE GRU'SOME TWO'SOME' / MC 'EZ'E VIBE' + TOP BUZZ MC 'MAD P'; beneath is 'THE UNTOUCHABLES' (specific membership/role unknown). Original explicitly advertises absolutely NO LIVE PAs, eleven hours of nonstop hardcore. Billing is not proof artists attended.

Graphic-design significance: An important early 1992 continuation of original 1991 woman/green-wireframe Dreamscape visual vocabulary. The second release replaces neon green mesh with atmospheric violet-blue billowing clouds and a warmly photographed female face, little ecstatic figure, monumental extruded white DREAMSCAPE lettering and green Roman II. The reverse builds on original ESP's ambitious brightly coloured starbursts, an original crowd photograph of unresolved provenance, dense DJs and MCs, green promotional banners, and 1992 national paper-shop distribution. Phatmedia specifically identifies The Adrenalin Corporation as designer; photographer, model and identity of source portrait unknown.

Historical context: Dreamscape II follows first Dreamscape on 6 December 1991 (now TMR-000968) at the then Denbigh Leisure Park warehouse. The second flyer invokes the success of the first, runs eleven hours (an hour longer) and promises the first of recurring 1992 programmes; period ESP archives list Dreamscape III on 10 April and IV on 29 May 1992. Contemporary Ravescene Magazeen No.8, February 1992, advertises the exact second event at Denbigh. The core bill links Swann-E, Ellis Dee, Grooverider, Bukem, Bryan Gee, Top Buzz, Clarkee, Dougal, Easygroove and DJ Seduction. 'Gru'some Two'some' MCs 'EZ'E Vibe' and 'Mad P' connect the first 1991 original (which billed Top Buzz MC Patrick) with continuing early Dreamscape; Mad P identity is established by prior TMR work. Original 1992 sound archive/tape collector references list attributed live sets for most billed DJs; authenticity and full performances remain separately unproven. The photocaptured audience is not authenticated as first-event image. Artwork's attributed studio (Jim Tang) and retailer economies chart the rapid brand and media growth of regional UK hardcore music.

Production note: Original multicolour paper printing front and reverse, period collage/photomontage and graphic lettering. Press type, paper supplier/weight, source photographic image, actual printing site and quantity unknown.

Condition note: Full print and white margins appear intact, minor upper/lower corner softening, shallow bends, small dark-surface speckles, minor edge rubbing and handling marks. Both face's violet clouds, photo and green II graphic retain strong colour. Reverse's starburst text, crowd photo and outlet lists remain legible, with little edge wear particularly around one lower corner. No conspicuous long torn fold, large missing section or detached panel apparent. Paper stock, print state, hidden repairs and exact dimensions require in-hand assessment; not professionally graded or mint.

Confidence / uncertainty: Date/time 28 February 1992 8pm–7am, logo, venue, ten DJs, two MC aliases, no live PAs, 1992 future-series plan, £20+10% and separate extra 5% card surcharge, Showsec and 50K sound claims all physically verified. 'BRYAN G' maps established Bryan Gee, NOT inactive Bryan G; 'SWAN'E' maps active Swann-E, 'GROOVER RIDER' maps Grooverider, 'EASY GROOVE' maps Easygroove, SEDUCTION to DJ Seduction. 'MC MAD P' links published TMR-000968's first-event 'Patrick'. 'MC EZ'E VIBE' warrants a cautiously scoped new authority; 'THE UNTOUCHABLES' membership/roles unknown. The studio design attribution is external specialist, not a signature. Earlier venue Denbigh and later Sanctuary names distinguished. Actual stage appearances, photo provenance, printed run and technical installations not audited.
