Catalogue note

Double-sided flyer for Temptation & United Dance at Stevenage Arts & Recreation Centre on Friday 30 September 1994, 9pm–6am. The globe-in-hands front presents the collaboration in a restrained cosmic visual language; the reverse carries a two-arena programme spanning hardcore and jungle, including Slipmatt, Sy, Dougal, LTJ Bukem, DJ Rap, Hype, Ratty and Seduction, plus Stevie Hyper D among the MCs. It also preserves production specifications, a large national ticket-outlet network, membership application and promoter text describing this as the fourth event at the venue.

Advertised programme: Arena One: Slipmatt, Sy, Dougal, LTJ Bukem, DJ Rap, Hype, Ratty, Seduction; MC MC, Conrad, MC Vocal, MC Magika. Arena Two: Jokey, SW1, Dope on Wax, Wortzal, Andy B, Paul Mackenna; MCs Shabba, Stevie Hyper D, Five-O.

Historical context: The reverse describes this as the fourth event at the venue and promises a revamped 20kW multicoloured Martin F2 sound system, 32-foot laser system, stage show and video screens. Specialist United Dance chronology lists collaborative Stevenage events on 25 March, 20 May, 12 August and 30 September 1994.

Condition note: Pronounced historic horizontal fold with fold wear, widespread handling creases and surface rubbing, corner and edge wear with small losses/abrasions, and local marks. Printed imagery and extensive reverse-side information remain substantially legible.

Event details are drawn from the held object and the qualified catalogue research above. A printed bill establishes an advertised booking, not confirmation that a performer appeared.

Why this object matters

The fourth joint Stevenage event preserves early Temptation/United Dance collaboration, membership and two-scene programming. It is outstanding organisational context for later United Dance programmes, but an early surviving sequence member is not equivalent to a documented launch or defining event. Remove the threshold Gold premium.

Evidence limits: No new physical inspection or collation was performed. Copy-specific conclusions remain limited to the retained catalogue and accession evidence.
