September 1985 issue of The Face, No. 65, built around Tony Viramontes’s striking photo-and-drawn cover treatment and the ‘Body Rock’ fashion story with Ray Petri. The issue combines fashion, music, nightlife and cultural reportage, including ‘Ibiza Holiday Babylon’, ‘Hollywood or Bust’, The Cult, Cameo, Norman Mailer, Arif Mardin, Sigue Sigue Sputnik, Yukio Mishima, and a section on the photographs of Rotimi Fani-Kayode. It is an unusually strong mid-1980s example of The Face as a meeting point of experimental image-making, fashion styling, club culture and editorial design.
