Alan Grant

Alan Grant (1949–2022) was a Scottish comics writer whose career encompassed British weekly comics and American superhero publishing. After editorial training at DC Thomson, he worked with John Wagner on Judge Dredd, Strontium Dog and other 2000 AD strips. He later became the principal writer of Anderson, Psi Division, including collaborations with artist Arthur Ranson.

For DC, Grant wrote extensively for Batman and Lobo. His Batman work included a long association with artist Norm Breyfogle, while his wider bibliography ranged across science fiction, fantasy, crime and comedy. He also adapted Robert Louis Stevenson's Kidnapped and Doctor Jekyll and Mr Hyde with artist Cam Kennedy.
