Fleetway / Egmont
Historic British comics-publishing relationship used by TMR for titles that passed through Fleetway and later Egmont ownership before parts of the archive were sold on.
Fleetway / Egmont
Fleetway became a major name in British comics publishing through titles and character libraries inherited from earlier IPC operations. During later ownership changes the comics business and rights became associated with Egmont, which retained substantial British comics material before later sales, including the transfer of 2000 AD to Rebellion in 2000 and a wider archive of classic titles to Rebellion in 2016.
Why it matters
This entity helps TMR preserve the publishing lineage of British comics objects whose rights and imprints changed repeatedly, rather than flattening them into the name of the current rights holder.
Coverage
Fleetway and Egmont encompass several corporate and imprint changes. TMR uses the combined entity for relationship browsing only; exact publisher/imprint information remains attached to individual object records.
